Why complete a first aid course
Australian employers have an obligation to provide their workforce with access to trained first aid officers and equipment. You might want to complete a first aid course because your employer asks you to, to improve your employability or to know what to do "just in case".
The nature of the work will determine how many first aid officers are required on the workplace:
Workplace | Risk factor | First aid officers |
---|---|---|
Office | low-risk | 1 in 50 workers |
Construction site | high-risk | 1 in 25 workers |
Mining site | remote high-risk | 1 in 10 workers |
